Connecting to TradingTheStockMarket mIRC

Go to File-Options. Click on the Add button located on the left side of the window. The following window will pop up:
Fill in FinancialChat under the Description field, and irc.financialchat.com in the IRC Server field. Port 6667 should already be selected as the default port . Then click OK. The mIRC Edit Server window will close. Click Connect to IRC Server to connect to FinancialChat.
Alternate Servers
If you connect to irc.financialchat.com, you are randomly placed on one of our available servers. If you have trouble connecting to irc.financialchat.com, try the following servers directly.

Basic IRC Commands
JOIN
Usage: /JOIN<channelname>
The join command lets you join a channel. This is the first thing you want to do when you connect to a server. You always have to place a # in front of the channel name. The example below would join you to #activetrader. Each major section in Financial Chat has an automatically loading applet that, depending on which link you choose, will automatically join you in that channel. To join another channel, use the join commands. Example: /join #TradingTheStockMarket
You can view a list of all the available rooms on Financial Chat, simply by clicking on the "Rooms" button embedded in the chat window.
PRIVATE CHAT
As well as beng able to chat on public channels, Financial Chat allows you to chat privately . If you are on a channel, and you see someone that you would like to privately chat with, just click on there name in the names list, and a new window will instantly pop up for you private chat. You can switch back and forth between channels, and private chats, by clicking on the titled buttons just below the chat bar.
USER MODES
User modes allow users to define there own settings. To view user modes, click on the "Session" button embedded in the chat window, and you will be able to adjust your user settings.
FLOAT WINDOW
New to Financial Chat is the ability to "float" widows. This allows users to view multiple windows at the same time. To "float" a window you must be in the room that you want to float. Click on the float button embedded in the channel window. To Float more than one channel at a time, go to the session tab and check the box that says float new message windows.
REGISTER A NICKNAME
Users work hard on developing a reputation among other users in the channel. To avoid anyone being able to ruin that reputation, by logging in uder your valued nickname, you must register it.
There are two ways that you can register your nickname. The easiest way would be to go to: http://www.financialchat.com/members/register.asp an fill in the fields with the appropriate information.
To manually register from your IRC clients: In any text bar type: /ns register <chooseapasshere> <email@addresshere> Easy enough. Now everytime you sign on to irc, you must identify your nickname. In any text bar type:
/msg nickserv identify <yourpasshere>
OTHER NICKSERV COMMANDS
Futher protect your nickname(recommended)
Type the following in any text bar to further protect your nickname registration:
/ns set protect on
/ns set kill on
Recover
If another user is using your nick and you haven't turned nick kill on, you can use this command to disconnect the user and recover your nick. After using the recover command, you need to use the release command to get the nick back.
Example: /msg nickserv recover Brian Brianpassword
Release
If your nick is being held by a nick enforcer or is being held because you used the recover command, use this command to release the nick so you can use it again.
Example: /msg nickserv release Brian BrianPassword
Ghost
If someone is using your registered nick, or you have become disconnected but your client still is online, you can use the ghost command to disconnect the client.
Example: /msg nickserv ghost Brian BrianPassword
Drop
This will drop all registration of a nick you own and make it available for other users to register.
Example: /msg nickserv drop Brian
Set Password
This command is used to change your nick password.
Example: /msg nickserv set passwd <newpass>
Change Email Address
To ensure proper registration, and for security reasons, a valid email address is required.This command is used to change your nick email address
Example: /msg nickserv set email <newaddresshere>
MemoServ COMMANDS:
Memo Services allow users to leave messages to registered users that are not currently online.
Send a message
/ms send <nickname> <message>
Read a message
/ms read <message#>
List all messages
/ms list
For futher MemoServ commands type--> /ms help while connected to the servers.
OTHER APPLET COMMANDS
Display current date,and time of the server you are connected to:
/time; /time servername
Display information about a nickname: /whois <nick>
Display information about the server you are connected to: /info
Will check to see if one or more nicknames are currently logged into IRC
/ison <nick1><nick2>
LOAD:
Example: /load NickServPanel; /load BuddyList; /load BuddyList
This command is for Java users only. It allows the user to load various available management/control panels. All the Panels are case sensitive.
